About this role
The Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Paraprofessional to support young learners in a preschool classroom. The paraprofessional works under the direction of the classroom teacher to provide instructional, behavioral, and developmental support while helping create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Essential Responsibilities
• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and classroom routines.
• Support children in developing social, emotional, communication, and academic skills.
• Provide individualized and small-group support as directed by the teacher.
• Assist students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, and other personal care needs, as necessary.
• Help implement behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized learning environment.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, lunch, and other school functions.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, and administrators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet Ohio Department of Education and Workforce paraprofessional requirements or be eligible to obtain appropriate certification/licensure.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children or children with diverse learning needs is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
• Ability to lift, assist, and actively engage with young children throughout the school day.
