About this role

Job summary

The Dove Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive clinical team. Working alongside our existing ANP and Paramedic team, this role has arisen following the partial retirement of a colleague.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive practice for two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday), providing high-quality, patient-centred care within an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will work as an autonomous clinician alongside our experienced GPs and multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality care to patients with acute and long-term conditions. You will assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe within your scope of practice, while supporting the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate primary care.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, forward-thinking practice where collaboration and clinical excellence are valued. You will contribute to service development, quality improvement and multidisciplinary working, while helping to maintain excellent standards of patient care.

The Dove Medical Practice is a well-established GP practice caring for approximately 9,300 patients in Erdington, Birmingham. We have a supportive multidisciplinary team including GPs, nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, care coordinators, social prescribers and an experienced reception and administrative team.

Job description Job responsibilities

Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions.Independently prescribe medication within your scope of practice.Request, interpret and act upon diagnostic investigations.Develop and implement appropriate management plans and arrange referrals where required.Provide health promotion, preventative care and patient education.Undertake home visits when clinically appropriate.Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web.Process clinical correspondence, referrals, prescriptions and results in a timely manner.Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.Participate in clinical meetings, audit, quality improvement and service development.Support the delivery of QOF and other contractual requirements where appropriate.Maintain professional registration, mandatory training and continuing professional development.Adhere to all practice policies, safeguarding procedures and clinical governance requirements.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Independent Prescriber (V300). Experience working within General Practice or Primary Care. Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Desirable

Experience using EMIS Web. Interest in long-term condition management. Evidence of audit, quality improvement or service development.
