Job summary
The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support in the Crisis Home Treatment team based at Bushey Fields Hospital.Duties vary over the days but the constants are responding to incoming telephone calls, directing appropriately, entering reviews and handovers, ensuring data is provided to requests from senior staff. This is a small snapshot of a varied and important role within the team.
You will be supporting a team of senior mental health nurse, who provide cover 24hrs a day 365 days a year. You will also be helping support the medics when there are medicines that they require ordering for patients.
Main duties of the job
Managing all incoming telephone calls politely and efficiently, taking messages as required and navigating all calls appropriately in line with the Standard Operating Procedure.
This may include registration of new patients onto the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and creating new referrals.
Always providing a high standard of communication with a patient centred approach.
Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for the organisation when responding to queries by telephone or electronically.
Preparing documentation in the form of letters and other correspondence as directed by the clinical team in an appropriate form.
Process the client referral system and associated documentation inaccordance with local operating procedures and systems.
Maintain effective and efficient team/service systems and office procedures, including procurement of supplies, stationery requirements, printed stationery and other ad hoc items as required via E-Series.
Take notes or minutes, prepare agenda and action logs to support meetings as required as defined by local or operational procedures.
You will work closely with other administrative staff to ensure continuity of administration support and mutual assistance within the Service. It will be expected that the post holder will be able to think on their feet, provide flexible cover for service opening hours and in to cover times of absence such a holidays etc.
