Main duties of the job We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Band 5 Nurse to join our team at St Martin's Hospital, Sulis Ward. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the provision of high-quality patient care by assessing care needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs. You will demonstrate the ability to perform all relevant forms of nursing care competently without direct supervision, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. Additionally, the role involves active participation in teaching, supervision, and preceptorship/mentorship of learners and other staff and in the absence of a more senior nurse, the post holder will take charge of the ward. Main Responsibilities To provide and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. To carry out all relevant forms of care competently without direct supervision. Communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care and promote effective team working. To participate in the teaching, supervision and preceptorship/mentorship of learners and other staff. Take charge of the ward in the absence of a more senior nurse. The post holder will work in partnership with the Ward / Department Sister to ensure that the standards of nursing care are met at all times. This includes assisting the ward / department Sister and the whole team to meet the agreed standards of hospital cleanliness within the work environment.The Ideal CandidateEssential

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Essential qualifications include being a Registered Nurse with UK NHS experience working on a ward. Candidates must be willing to undergo necessary training and demonstrate an ability to explain skills to other staff. A good understanding of current health care issues, standards of professional practice, and excellent verbal and written skills are required. Desirable qualifications include holding a mentorship qualification, having awareness of the speciality, and capable of lateral thinking.
