About this role

Job summary

Fressingfield Medical Centre is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our thriving practice in rural north Suffolk. Working across our Fressingfield and Stradbroke surgeries, this position is offered for 2 sessions per week, ideally both worked on a Monday, within our same-day urgent access service.

This is a new post, funded through the practice-level GP Reimbursement Scheme, created specifically to strengthen our capacity for patients requiring same-day assessment and treatment. If you enjoy managing acute and undifferentiated presentations and making confident clinical decisions, this role has been designed around exactly that.

The successful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for delivering high-quality medical services and excellent clinical care to patients of the practice. The post holder will adhere to GMC standards of good medical practice and work collaboratively within our established multidisciplinary team.

The role will involve delivering a dedicated same-day urgent care list, comprising a mixture of face-to-face and telephone consultations as clinically appropriate. Sessions may also involve supporting our duty clinician system, or covering duty sessions during periods of annual leave and other service pressures.

Whilst the role is expected to be practice-based, we are happy to discuss individual circumstances and flexible working requests with the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

Salary in line with the BMA salaried GP pay range. NHS Pension Scheme membership (Type 2 Practitioner), with employer contributions. Six weeks annual leave plus bank holidays, pro rata. No out-of-hours commitment. A supportive, well-established multidisciplinary team. A role that may fit well alongside portfolio working or other clinical commitments.

About us Fressingfield Medical Centre are a dispensing practice operating over two sites and have an excellent relationship with our patient population of around 6,400, dispensing for approximately 95% of them.

We are proud of our strong, friendly and cohesive team culture, where colleagues support one another and work collaboratively to provide high-quality patient care. We place great value on maintaining a positive working environment and fostering good professional relationships across the whole practice team.

Our practice comprises a strong and diverse team of 3 GP partners, nurse practitioners, practice paramedics, a practice pharmacist, a pharmacy technician, dispensers, an experienced nursing team and an efficient and experienced team of care co-ordinators, administrators and secretaries.
