Churchview Surgery is looking for a Practice Nurse to join our well-established, high achieving practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to work part-time for a fixed term giving the flexibility and freedom to work in other areas.

About us

We are a fully computerised (EMIS system) practice, able to offer face to face, telephone and video consultations to its 6100-practice population.

We all work closely together ensuring a positive, open and friendly dynamic. The Practice Manager is a Freedom to Speak Up Guardian and all members of staff are encouraged to speak up and have a voice. We are a progressive, forward-thinking practice who promote new ways of working and develop new ideas moving forward.

We are based in the little quaint town of Old Hill which is easily accessible via public transport.

The practice is based in a modern, purpose built, single storey building which was built in 1989.

Job Responsibilities

Purpose:

To provide high quality nursing care to patients within the general practice setting, promoting health, preventing illness and supporting the diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and long-term conditions.

The role involves delivering evidence-based care, health education, immunisations, screening programmes and supporting patients to maintain and improve their wellbeing while working collaboratively with the wider practice team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide patient assessments, treatment, advice and ongoing careAdminister vaccinations and immunisationsConduct health screenings, routine checks and chronic disease reviewsManage long-term conditions including diabetes, asthma and hypertensionUndertake wound care, dressings and cervical screening, if trainedPromote health education, prevention and wellbeingMaintain accurate clinical records and support infection control practicesCollaborate with GPs and the wider practice team to deliver evidence-based care in line with professional standards and guidelinesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Competence in core general practice skills including; immunisations and vaccinations, wound care, health promotions and screening Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and clinical governance Previous experience in a general practice or primary care setting

Desirable

Cervical cytology training Phlebotomy training

Other Experience, Skills and Requirements Essential

Right to work in the UK Strong communication, organisational and IT skills

Desirable

Experience in using EMIS Web

Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse with current active registration on the NMC register Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in nursing
