About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Medicine Homecare Team, based at Morriston Hospital.

The successful candidate will need to be able to organise and prioritise own workload and work on their own initiative.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate would have good numeracy skills, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, office administration experience, a good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 packages including Word and Excel.

Some background knowledge of Medicines Homecare is desirable but full training will be given

Duties will include:

Scrutinising prescriptions for compliance and accuracy and raising any errors/omissions with the relevant pharmacist/clinic to resolve them.

Creating orders in accordance to standard operating procedures.

Liaising with clinical teams regarding patient's treatments.

Scrutinising and processing invoices/Proof Of Deliveries/credits and raising enquiries where necessary with homecare providers in relation to errors/omissions/clinical queries, adhering to standard financial instructions and contractual obligations;

Providing administration support to specific areas within the Integrated Pharmacy & Medicines Management Directorate as required.

Providing and distributing reports for specific areas of work to the relevant teams.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Educated to vocational level 3 or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience

Desirable

ECDL or equivalent computer courses

Knowledge Essential

Working experience of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, to include spreadsheets and databases, and Outlook. Information governance.

Experience Essential

Demonstrate experience in an administrative role. Experience of communicating with all levels of staff and the public. Experience of dealing with confidentiality, sensitive data, appropriate maintenance and storage of records.

Desirable

Experience of transcribing and minute taking. Previous experience of working in the NHS or other public Sector organisation. Previous Experience of working in a Pharmacy Department.

Desirable

Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
