We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Support Time and Recovery (STR) Worker to join our Integrated Non-Custodial Services (INCS) Liaison and Diversion Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-agency environment, supporting people who come into contact with the criminal justice system and who may have mental health needs, , or other vulnerabilities.
Based across Bridewell Police Station and Probation Service in central Bristol, you will work closely with registered practitioners, probation colleagues, and community organisations to support individuals in accessing the services they need. You will provide practical and emotional support, helping people overcome barriers to engagement, improve their wellbeing, and reduce the risk of further offending.
You will be part of a supportive and innovative team committed to improving outcomes for individuals who are often underserved and face multiple disadvantages. Main duties of the job
Supporting service users to engage with health, social care and voluntary sector services. Working alongside mental health practitioners and probation staff to develop and implement support plans. Building trusting relationships with individuals who may be reluctant to engage with services. Assisting with transitions between criminal justice, health and community settings. Providing advocacy and practical support to promote independence and recovery. Contributing to reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Maintaining accurate records and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings.

Job description Job responsibilities
.To work alongside other members of the Liaison and Diversion Service with an allocated number of individual service users who have been in contact with the Criminal Justice System (CJS). The post holderwill also be required to participate in team meetings, training sessions, team and care plan review meetings and supervision as appropriate.
To work with and maintain appropriate engagement for a time limited period, with offenders with mental health problems and other vulnerabilities who are likely to have multiple and complex needs.
To liaise with and assist the Criminal Justice Mental Health practitioners, along with an extensive number of external agencies, with the assessment and short-term care planning for service users.
To network with a wide range of health and social care agencies, to identify and develop a database of local resources, and to understand the impact of stigma that offenders with mental health problemsoften face in accessing these services.
Person Specification
Education/Experience/Skills Essential
Demonstrable experience of working with a vulnerable client group, including experience of supporting people with mental health problems Possession of, or the ability and willingness to work towards, Level 2 Functional Skills (e.g. GCSE Mathematics and English Language Grade C/4 or above) Ability to work proactively alongside people to help meet identified goals and needs Ability to record and retrieve information on charts/paper and electronic patents records Take responsibility for relations with external partners Ability to manage own time, prioritise activities, and maintain accountability for workload and clients Experience of working in community settings.

Experience of working with people who have had contact with the Criminal Justice Service Experience of working with people who are hard-to-engage Experience of working with people with drug and alcohol problems
