Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator Cluster 4

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator looking to forward their career.

We are looking for a full time (37.5 hour per week) Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator to join our team, to proactively manage the patient pathway from referral to discharge; ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering general clerical, reception and administrative duties to support the provision of patient care and high levels of patient satisfaction. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to supervise and develop staff, working and dealing with the public, handling complaints and maintaining effective working relationships in a busy multi-disciplinary environment.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will:

Demonstrate ability to pay attention to detail, reliably check and record data and be able to self-check completed work Demonstrate excellent communication skills Demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Demonstrate a flexible, adaptable approach and operative effectively within a team Have a strong working knowledge of national performance targets and be able to apply this to their everyday work when dealing with outpatient appointments

Person Specification

Skills Essential

Accurate data entry, typing and checking skills Ability to plan, prioritise and delegate workload

Knowledge Essential

Good knowledge of speciality specific patient pathways Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times

Experience Essential

Experience of using full range of IT systems and patient data systems

Desirable

2 years NHS experience

Qualifications Essential

English and Maths GCSEs, grade A-C or equivalent
