A fantastic opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 4
rthopaedic Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Therapy Team at Grantham Hospital.
The post holder will work on the Elective Orthopaedic Ward as part of a 7-day service, supporting service delivery between the hours of 07:00 and 20:00, in line with the ward rota. You will be expected to join the weekend rota.
The role involves working as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), alongside Nursing staff, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. The post holder will be clinically supervised, and line managed by registered Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of pre-operative assessment, post-operative rehabilitation and discharge planning for orthopaedic inpatients and day-case patients.
The Therapy Service atUnited Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trustcomprisesa well-established team of over 220 Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff across four hospital sites, providing services to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The post-holder's base will be based at Grantham Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To manage a delegated clinical caseload, working with a degree of autonomy within clearly defined boundaries and scope of practice.
To assess and treat patientsin accordance withagreed protocols and treatment plans.
Tomonitorpatient progress and adapt treatment programmes asappropriate withinscope of practice.
Tomaintainaccurate,timelyandappropriate clinicalrecords in line with Trust and professional standards.
To work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to support patient care andtimelydischarge planning.
To undertake administrative and general duties to support the effective running of the Therapy Service and clinical area.

Qualifications Essential
2 A level's or equivalent Level 3 qualification in a subject relevant to the post GCSE English and Maths - Grade 4-9 or equivalent Relevant Level 5 qualification (Diploma level) or equivalent
Desirable
ECDL or equivalent Other related Healthcare qualifications
Previous Experience Essential
Experience as a senior therapy assistant or senior health care support worker or equivalent in hospital or community. Experience of collecting/recording information on paper and computer systems. Experience of using good customer relations and effective communication skills including face to face, telephone and written.
