Full Time 37.5 Hours per week | Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Therapeutic Radiographer to join the Berkshire Cancer Centre as our Technical and Developmental Lead Radiographer.

This senior clinical leadership role will lead the introduction, implementation and evaluation of innovative radiotherapy techniques and technologies across the service. The successful candidate will work closely with Radiotherapy Managers, Clinical Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to drive technical development, service improvement and excellence in patient care.

The post holder will provide expert clinical and technical leadership, horizon scan emerging technologies, lead technique implementation projects, develop associated protocols and ensure safe adoption of new ways of working in accordance with national guidance, and departmental strategy.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

Lead the implementation of new radiotherapy techniques and technologies. Provide expert technical and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams. Develop, review and implement policies, protocols and pathways supporting service innovation. Lead technical service developments aligned to departmental and national priorities. Horizon scan and evaluate emerging technologies and evidence-based practice. Maintain expert clinical practice through regular treatment delivery. Work collaboratively with the Radiotherapy Workforce & Education team to ensure effective implementation of technique-related training programmes. Lead and support audit, research and service evaluation projects. Present and publish innovations and research findings nationally and internationally. Support operational service delivery and undertake senior leadership responsibilities as required by the Radiotherapy Managers. Participate in on-call and flexible service provision.

Four Elekta Linear Accelerators. Two GE CT Simulators. Surface Guided Radiotherapy technology. Superficial X-ray services. High Dose Rate Brachytherapy services. Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent. HCPC Registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer. Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent postgraduate qualification.

Experience Essential

Significant post-registration radiotherapy experience. Experience implementing new radiotherapy techniques and technologies. Demonstrable leadership experience. Experience supporting education, training and development of staff. Evidence of service development and quality improvement. Strong multidisciplinary working skills. Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable

Project management experience. Research, publication and conference presentation experience. Advanced oncology practice experience.
