Job SummaryAs a Supervisory Attorney-Advisor (Division Director) at the GS-0905-15, you will be part of the Advice, Audits and External Reports Division, Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs (OCLA), U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for advising and assisting in the development, administration, coordination and execution of the plans, policies, and procedures for carrying out EEOC's external reports and audits.

QualificationsFor the GS-15: You must have earned a professional law degree (J.D. or LL.B.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member of the BAR, and have 4 years of professional legal experience with at least one year being equivalent to the GS-14 level. Professional legal education above the first professional law degree may be substituted for experience required as follows:(a) The second professional law degree (LL.M) may be substituted for one year of experience (b) The third law degree (J.S.D) may be substituted for one year of experience beyond the LL.M. Attorneys appointed in the excepted service are required to maintain active membership in a bar within U.S. jurisdiction for the duration of their employment. Attorneys must provide documentation supporting active membership and good standing status (or equivalent) on at least an annual basis. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This is a Schedule Policy/Career position. Schedule Policy/Career is an excepted service schedule for career positions that are of a confidential, policy-determining, policy-making, or policy-advocating character (policy-influencing positions) as defined by Executive Order 13957, as amended, and 5 C.F.R. § 213.3601. Schedule Policy/Career positions are not required to personally or politically support the current President or the policies of the current administration. Further, all actions taken under this policy must be carried out fairly, transparently, and in strict adherence to applicable laws. Employees in Schedule Policy/Career positions must faithfully implement administration policies to the best of their ability, consistent with their constitutional oath and the vesting of executive authority solely in the President. Failure to do so is grounds for dismissal.

Major DutiesProvides administrative management, supervision, coordination, and professional direction of EEOC external reports and audit activities within OCLA's jurisdiction.Develops, implements, and manages Commission plans for agency external reports within OCLA's jurisdiction, including annual performance and accountability reporting.Develops, implements, and manages Commission plans for audits within OCLA's jurisdiction, including reports and audits conducted by the Government Accountability Office.Develops, implements, and manages plans to meet the office's strategic planning and performance goals.Prepares Commission responses to inquiries concerning external report and audit activities within OCLA's jurisdiction.Prepares Commission responses to requests for clearance from the Office of Management and Budget.Acts as a liaison to other Commission offices for external reports and audit issues pertaining to the EEOC.
