You must have experience performing the majority of the following duties: Determining admissibility and reviewing documentation of those seeking admission to the United States; Overseeing operations to detect, pursue, and deter fraud and to identify systemic vulnerabilities and other weaknesses that compromise the integrity of the legal immigration system; Providing briefings to senior leaders where there is significant national security, public safety, benefit fraud, or law enforcement attention; Performing management functions such as directing subordinates, developing work plans, or providing advice to personnel; and Briefing officials and external entities on the status of the branch. Major DutiesResponds to the Deputy Associate Director for overall direction of the branch's activities and ensures those activities support agency and directorate mission statements.Develops administrative and management-support programs that affect the branch.Manages and employs a variety of resources and procedures to identify and detect immigration benefit fraud.Liaises with law enforcement, national security representatives, and other government officials.Provides direction, sets priorities, monitors workload and quality, and conducts major program and case oversight for the branch.Performs administrative and management functions, such as overseeing and directing subordinates, developing work plans, providing advice to and counseling personnel, providing periodic evaluations of employee performance, and preparing reports.RequirementsConditions of Employment: You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National to apply for this position Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure You must pass a drug screening Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service Political appointees may require OPM approval before on-boarding USCIS applies the Telework Enhancement Act of 2010 to its telework program This position IS considered "essential" for purposes of reporting to work when the facility might otherwise be closed. Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be serving in a position in Schedule Policy/Career of the Excepted service. You will obtain competitive status after two years of service in this position [if applicable]. Your employment in this position will be at-will. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeals of adverse actions concerning performance, discipline, and other matters arising under chapters 23, 43, and 75 of title 5, United States Code will not be available to an individual serving in this position. The DHS Office of General Counsel will enforce prohibitions on prohibited personnel practices and not the Office of Special Counsel.
