Job SummaryThis position is located at the New Sunrise Regional Treatment Center (NSRTC) in Acoma, NM. The purpose of this position is to perform journeyman-level maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, exterior structures, related fixtures, and utility systems within the healthcare facilities and/or quarters. The position requires the regular and recurring application of multiple skilled trades in support of patient care, staff operations, and facility safety.

Major DutiesPerform journeyman-level installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems and components across multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, HVAC, and related building systems. Install, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing, piping, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical equipment, and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant facility operations. Construct, modify, and repair structural and non-structural building components, including doors, windows, walls, flooring, cabinetry, and finishes; prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces to maintain appearance and functionality. Perform exterior facility maintenance, including grounds, drainage, fencing, walkways, irrigation systems, snow and ice removal, and other related trades such as minor roofing, concrete, locksmithing, and light welding as needed.RequirementsSelectee may be subject to a probationary period ESEP appointees typically serve a two year trial period U.S. Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally heavier items with assistance. Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment. A background investigation is a standard process used by the Federal Government to verify an individual's identity, employment history, education, and other relevant information to determine suitability for Federal service.
