Job SummaryYou will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES PROGRAM OFFICE of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.

QualificationsDOD International Fire Service Accreditation Congress National Professional Qualifications Board Certification as Fire Officer IV, Instructor II, and Inspector II are required. Airport Firefighter and HAZMAT Incident Commander Preferred. IS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800. Provide documentation of certificates that are required, if you do not provide you will be considered ineligible. I have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and recommending structure fire and emergency services criteria for fire department administration, fire suppression, and emergency medical services (EMS); 2) Preparing criteria and guidelines to assist fire chiefs in developing standards of cover, pre-incident plans, integrated incident command operations, and investigation of structural, marine vessel, aircraft, and aircraft facility fires; and 3) Completing the self-assessment process and identifying/developing standard exhibits for the DoD Fire Department Accreditation Program. Major DutiesYou will serve as F and ES Assessor and provide technical assistance to Fire Chiefs.You will be responsible for the management and coordination of specifications, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and curriculums for assigned Navy programs and devices.You will be the primary liaison and/or point of contact (POC) for the various assigned programs.You will review all draft DoD, DON, and OPNAV directives, as well as other government/federal policy documents, and recommend changes to firefighter related notices and instructions.You will develop and recommend new policy, programs, and procedures to support/supplement changes that ensure all Installations maintain the highest degree of readiness.You will prepare and brief CNIC senior leadership, Regional Commanders, and Installations Commanding Officers on FP programs.
