QualificationsTo qualify for a(n) Contract Termination Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Basic Contracting Requirement: A.) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees OR B.) a current civilian employee in DoD or member of the Armed Forces, who occupied an 1102 position, contracting officer position, or comparable military contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30, 2000 are excluded from the requirements of "A" above. B. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Utilizing contract administration policy alongside business and industry practices to evaluate contractor proposals, settle claims, and execute complex settlement agreements. Performing cost and price techniques to resolve a broad range of contract termination or claims issues. Negotiating resolutions for contract terminations, claims, unsettled change proposals, and payment issues. Providing technical leadership, coordination, and consultation in the contract termination area.

Major DutiesServes as the principal advisor to the Director of the Agency in the development and deployment of Agency Contracting policy and processes for contract administration, services, and procurement.Serves as a Warranted Termination Contracting Officer.Serves as a project leader, when necessary, over specialists from price analysis, engineering, auditing, and offices of counsel.Responsible for negotiations of contract terminations, including settling a variety of proposals.Responsible for the administrative and operational activities involved in the settlement of prime contractor claims.
