Job SummaryYou will serve as a Utilityman in the Parker Dam Operations and Maintenance Branch, supporting day-to-day maintenance and operational activities across the dam and associated facilities. You will perform a wide range of hands-on tasks that assist skilled trades staff, operate vehicles and equipment, and help maintain safe, clean, and functional work areas, contributing to the overall operation and upkeep of the project.

Major DutiesSome of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: - Assists journeymen in completion of various duties such as painting, sandblasting, plumbing, road repair, concrete work, power plant equipment maintenance, housekeeping, etc. - Frequently uses hand and power tools in the performance of maintenance tasks. - Assists electricians in removing and installing cable, bending conduit, and hanging conduit. - Operates vehicles to include light and heavy duty trucks, mobile equipment, material handling equipment, forklift, front end loader, overhead crane, etc. - Performs assigned work in a safe manner and attends tool box safety meetings. - Maintains the neat appearance of the roadway, parking areas, and sidewalks on the dam and other areas within the project.RequirementsMust provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct Deposit participation required. You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position. You must follow all local, state, and federal motor vehicle regulations. You will be required to obtain a successful pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position. A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency. You must be able to safely operate light and heavy-duty vehicles, forklifts, front-end loaders, material handling equipment, and overhead cranes. You must comply with Reclamation Safety and Health Standards and Lower Colorado Dams Office Hazardous Energy Control Procedures. You must use required safety equipment, including respirators, as needed. You must report unsafe conditions to the supervisor in charge and perform assigned work in a safe and workmanlike manner. You must attend toolbox safety meetings held for each employee. This is a bargaining unit position represented by IBEW Local 640. You must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program. *Probationary Requirements located under Additional Information*
