Job SummaryYou will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS ENGINEER in the F/A-18 FLEET SUPPORT TEAM, AVIONICS BRANCH of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Managing comprehensive electronic engineering programs, including strategic resource allocation and operational planning; 2) Functioning as a master-level technical authority for complex Avionics, Sensors, Electronic Warfare, and Electrical Power Distribution Systems; 3) Originating novel engineering methodologies and test procedures to solve unprecedented or controversial technical issues; 4) Directing extensive engineering investigations to mitigate critical system deficiencies and prevent catastrophic failures; 5) Formulating certification standards and providing technical mentorship to a professional engineering workforce; and 6) Negotiating with industry partners and organizational leadership to drive program changes. Major DutiesYou will interview candidates, evaluate subordinate work performance, and ensure full compliance with equal employment opportunity policies.You will adjust team schedules and short-term work priorities to adapt to unpredictable changes in program funding and requirements.You will modify standard engineering guides, policies, and precedents to establish authorizing requirements for complex system modifications.You will resolve conflicting technical, logistical, and administrative issues to maintain intended mission capability and safety of flight.You will lead technical meetings, deliver briefings, and serve as the primary engineering spokesperson for your specific program area.You will anticipate the impact of emerging technological changes and devise the hands-on engineering approach to integrate them into assigned systems.
