Major DutiesPaints interior and exterior surfaces on existing buildings and equipment using standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying. Prepares surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, or using wire brushes. Patches and fills plaster and wood surfaces. Mixes and blends paints and other surface coating materials to match or to contrast desired colors. Cuts paper and metal stencils for lettering and other stenciling Independently alters and repairs framework, interior and exterior trim, doors, windows, and refinished paneling. Operates the snow removal equipment (including the case tractor, Bolens Tractor, and Case Backhoe). Independently installs and modifies existing or new plumbing facilities in IHS housing including: utility supply and disposal systems, toilets, tubs, showers, sinks, hot water heaters (gas and electric), etc. Adjusts all hardware on quarters doors, including door closures, weather stripping, lock sets, astragals. Repairs and checks housing furnaces, hot water heaters, changes filters, belts, controllers, sensors, transformers and igniters. Makes minor repairs to electrical systems.RequirementsSelectee may be subject to a probationary period ESEP appointees typically serve a two year trial period U.S. Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 On-call hours or standby duty may be required.
