Summary: Under general supervision of the Public Works Administrative Supervisor, provides high‑volume front‑line customer service and clerical support for Public Works. Answers and routes calls and walk‑ins, supports permit/program intake (e.g., road cut permits, residential dumpster reservations), prepares routine correspondence and forms, enters time and data into City systems, and assists with records, mail, purchasing, and meeting logistics. STARTING SALARY: $19.25-$23.75/hour
STATUS: Full-Time (benefitted) DEPARTMENT: Public Works
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and six months clerical or related training. Two (2) years of administrative or business experience with demonstrated competence. Municipal experience and Cityworks/Workday familiarity preferred. May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a valid Utah Driver’s License for occasional off-site travel. A one-year probationary period is a prerequisite to this position. Knowledge of english usage, spelling, arithmetic; general office practices and equipment; customer service standards; basic purchasing and cash handling; MS Office; Cityworks data entry. Responsibility for accurate cash receipting and records; handling confidential information; decisions affecting activity of others (scheduling, program logistics). Professional verbal/written communication; ability to defuse tense situations; effective relationships with employees, contractors, and public. Tool, Machine, Equipment Operation: Type 45 wpm; regular use of computer, printer, copier, credit‑card machine, multi‑line phone; basic website CMS; two‑way/800 MHz radio (as trained).
