About this role

Line of Service Advisory Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism Cybersecurity & Privacy Management Level Associate Job Description & Summary Job Opening Date: 27.07.2026

Job Closing Date: 31.12.2026

Cyber security continues to be a critical priority across all sectors, including banking, insurance, gaming, manufacturing, retail, distribution and beyond. As organisations increasingly rely on technology and digital services, cyber threats are becoming more frequent, complex and disruptive. In Malta and internationally, cyber incidents have affected organisations of different sizes and industries, sometimes resulting in operational disruption, reputational impact and significant financial loss. We are looking for a Cyber Security Consultant to join our Cyber Security & Privacy team within PwC Digital Services. In this role, you will support the delivery of a broad range of cyber services to local and international clients. It is an opportunity to build your career in cyber security within a professional services environment, while gaining exposure to areas such as governance, risk and compliance, offensive security, security engineering and cyber operations.

Your Mission

Your career with PwC is what you make it. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Support governance, risk and compliance (GRC) engagements, including developing and reviewing security policies and procedures, carrying out cyber risk and maturity assessments, and helping clients respond to regulatory and standards-based requirements such as ISO 27001, DORA and NIS2, including as part of managed services.

• Work as part of a team to deliver offensive security engagements, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, social engineering exercises and red team assessments across different client environments.

• Assist with security engineering and operations activities, including implementing and configuring security solutions, improving security technologies, and strengthening processes and operational controls that help clients enhance their cyber resilience.

• Prepare high-quality deliverables, including clear reports that present findings, risks and recommendations in a way that is accessible to both technical and business audiences.

• Support the team’s lab environment by implementing and maintaining IT infrastructure hardware and software, as well as bespoke orchestration and automation setups using programming and scripting languages.

• Carry out research and development to identify, propose and implement new technologies, methods and tools that enhance internal processes and support more efficient delivery of our services.

• Identify opportunities to improve existing methodologies and processes, and maintain clear, accurate documentation.

About You

We welcome applications from candidates with a degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Security or a related field. An interest in developing relevant industry certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity or entry-level vendor-specific certifications, would be considered an asset.

We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative and motivated to keep learning. You will also bring:

• Around 1–2 years of experience in IT operations, cyber security or a related technical field. Experience is helpful, but a strong interest in building a career in cyber security consulting is equally important.

• An interest in areas such as governance, risk and compliance, offensive security, security engineering and cyber operations, with a willingness to develop hands-on knowledge across these areas.

• Motivation to learn new technologies, security concepts, tools, methodologies and regulatory requirements relevant to client engagements.

• A willingness to undertake formal training and work towards relevant industry or vendor certifications to continue expanding your knowledge and skills.

• Confidence working with clients and colleagues, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, and contributing positively in a team environment.

• Strong time management skills, including the flexibility to work with shifting priorities, deadlines and client needs.

• A commitment to high standards of ethical behaviour, confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of your work.

At PwC, we aim to create an environment where people can grow, contribute and progress based on their strengths and potential. We will support your development, recognise the value you bring, and provide opportunities to apply leading methodologies across a varied client base.
