As an MS IT Infra - SQL DBA Senior Associate, you will play a crucial role in managing, securing, and optimizing our database environment. Within our Cloud Engineering, Data & Analytics network, you will focus on implementing, configuring, maintaining, and tuning SQL Server RDBMS systems to support seamless operations and high availability for clients. You will collaborate with developers, system administrators, and business analysts to maintain data integrity and security, while also leading modernization initiatives and high-impact database changes.
As a Senior Associate, you will leverage your skills to analyze complex problems and mentor junior team members. You will build meaningful client connections and develop a deeper understanding of the business context. Navigating increasingly complex situations, you will grow your personal brand and deepen your technical skills. You are expected to anticipate the needs of your teams and clients, delivering quality solutions even when the path forward isn’t clear.
In this role at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing industry-leading practices for cloud-based systems. Your expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, performance tuning, and security compliance will be vital in driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Managing and optimizing SQL Server database environments to support seamless business operations - Implementing and configuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime - Collaborating with developers and system administrators to enhance data integrity and security - Leading performance tuning initiatives using DMVs, execution plan analysis, and query optimization techniques - Designing and maintaining enterprise backup strategies and conducting disaster recovery drills - Configuring clustering, log shipping, and replication to support database replication and failover processes - Developing automation frameworks for indexing, stats updates, and health checks using scripting languages - Monitoring infrastructure performance and capacity to forecast growth and optimize resource utilization - Implementing security measures such as encryption, data masking, and role-based access control - Troubleshooting database incidents and conducting root cause analysis to improve system stability - Building and maintaining dashboards to report on database performance and uptime metrics
What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree - At least 5+ years of experience SQL DBA - Oral and written proficiency in English required

- Possessing Microsoft SQL Server Certifications (MCSA/MCSE) - Holding Azure SQL-related certifications - Demonstrating proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible - Excelling in performance tuning and capacity planning for SQL databases - Utilizing advanced scripting skills in Shell, PowerShell, PL/SQL, and T-SQL - Leading database modernization and automation initiatives - Managing complex SQL environments with AlwaysOn AGs and multi-subnet clusters
