YOUR MISSION The Footwear Design function at PUMA RCC India blends local market insights with global direction, staying true to the brand's DNA and sports philosophy. By understanding local trends and market gaps, the team creates footwear that aligns with global design and execution standards.
Frequent travel to markets and factories is essential for refining designs and ensuring high-quality execution. The team works in a dynamic, creative environment equipped with updated tools and software, allowing them to stay innovative and efficient.
Through close collaboration with PUMA’s global teams, the RCC India design function ensures that products cater to local needs while maintaining consistency with the brand’s global vision.
The Designer will contribute to the formulation of the annual product design plan for the product category and introduce and execute innovative design ideas, to achieve Business targets and product category objectives, with a focus but not exclusive to PUMA India Footwear Market.
• Form a design led, short-, mid- and long-term point of view on the PUMA India Footwear offering in conjunction with conversation and presentations with product management & merch team.
• Produce accurate and detailed color and material specs to factory standards.
• Travel to factories to finalize prototypes
• Research markets, trade shows and competition for trends and inspiration and provide trip reports
• Develop seasonal marketing stories in coordination with the overall business unit strategic direction, as well as the Global Brand Management and Global Marketing functions
• Support team regarding design initiatives and priorities
• Work closely with suppliers in India and elsewhere to both source, brief in and develop new materials in line with the creative direction and commercial needs
• Creation of dynamic seasonal color and material packs that are both commercial, consumer and trend relevant, in conjunction with the creative direction.
• Work independently and efficiently to ensure all internal deadlines are met
• Ensure internal communication systems are updated to deadlines with accurate information
• Ensure the quality of products’ design content in order to reinforce and strengthen the brand position and generate consumer demand
YOUR TALENT Skills & Experience Required:
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in designing footwear.
• Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities
• Team player who works productively with a wide range of people
• Pro efficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Understanding of AI / 3D software is a plus.
