Job Title: Assistant Director, Exam Services
Department: Student Life | Disability Services
The Assistant Director, Exam Services provides strategic leadership and overall management for accommodated and accessible testing within Student Life Disability Services, satellite, and virtual proctoring settings. Operates with a high level of autonomy and minimal supervision; possess significant decision-making authority for all accountabilities related to the exam services staff and facility, that includes but is not limited to staffing decisions, workload/priority management, effective policy and process implementation, integrity breach reporting and testifying at hearings; manages resolution of conflicts with students and stakeholders.
The Assistant Director, Exam Services plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with university policies, industry standards, and legal regulations related to disability accommodated test administration of over 25,000+ assessments annually. They are responsible for the integrity, security, and confidential management of academic assessments and student disability information; works closely with the ADA Coordinator and their staff to ensure all practices are within guidance of the ADA Coordinator’s Office; collaborates with Academic Affairs, Student Life, the Registrar’s Office, Testing Center and other university units to procure additional off-site testing locations.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 5 years’ administrative work experience; strong communication skills (both verbal and written), proven interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to multi-task; 2 years supervisory experience; 4 years customer service experience; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, database management, and virtual meeting platforms; experience working in a detail-oriented and fast-paced environment; experience designing and implementing educational or training curricula for staff or clients.
Desired: Master’s degree; 8 - 12 years’ experience working in higher education, disability or medical services, or student services environment; experience proctoring exams; experience working with individuals with disabilities; and experience with accessibility software (i.e. JAWS, ZOOM TEXT, Read &Write).
Additional Information: Targeted hiring range is $55,700.00 - $72,700.00 annually. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
