The NXP offices in Italy are based in Milan and Catania. We do have a presence with front-end customers (sales and field application engineers) or R&D department developing next generation of solution for automotive and industrial market. NXP is supporting the digitalization and transformation of the business model for many companies in the second largest semiconductor market in the EMEA region.
Assignment: The thesis work centers on the design and exploration of various topologies of current‑feedback instrumentation amplifiers. This class of circuits is essential in both biomedical and industrial domains, enabling the precise and low‑noise processing of sensor‑derived signals. The candidate will investigate multiple architectures within the instrumentation‑amplifier family, with the primary challenge being the improvement of linearity and the treatment of noise. This includes experimenting with chopping techniques—potentially enhanced through ripple‑reduction loops—and performing comprehensive PVT and Monte Carlo analyses to assess robustness and variability. Ultimately, the candidate will contribute significantly to the development and refinement of an advanced instrumentation‑amplifier topology, pushing its performance in terms of accuracy, stability, and noise efficiency.
Your Responsibilities:

Your Profile:
• MSc student in Electronic Engineering with an emphasis on IC design • Affinity with the state of art analog design/verification flow and tools, preferably with Cadence tooling • Creative and positive mindset • Flexible and eager for new challenges • Good communication and documentation skills in English • Desire for a career in analog/mixed-signal integrated circuit design
