JOB SUMMARY Marymount seeks to build a pool of persons qualified to teach Clinical Nursing Courses in local hospitals or clinical sites. Qualified applicants will be contacted as a teaching need arises.
Responsible for providing a quality learning experience for Marymount University students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty are professionals with the responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for Marymount University students on a semester basis. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Each adjunct is hired to instruct a particular course(s) within a department. The chair of the department will review all duties as assigned, particular to course being contracted to be taught.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teach designated courses
• Maintains office hours as needed
OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
• Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Education
• Bachelors in nursing or a related field
• Current RN license; VA required or Compact, DC preferred
• Master’s degree required; PhD degree in related field preferred for graduate teaching
Compensation/Benefits
Adjuncts receive remuneration on a semester basis, which starts at $2,160 per semester based on a 40 hour clinical rotation. They may make their own contribution to a 403b retirement plan.
