The Finance Controllership Team provides financial control and accounting support to LSEG globally. Financial Controllers are responsible for the delivery of high-quality management reporting and controllership to the Business units within the Operations division. The Operations function manages day to day delivery of LSEG’s products and services and helps to drive transformation and growth through a focus on operational excellence. The teams in Operations partner with all divisions and functions on continuous improvement of our processes and systems to enhance service quality for our customers and colleagues. Our operational teams are aligned to our business divisions and functions to deliver LSEG’s products and services for our customers across the trade lifecycle, and to support and improve processes and systems that serve our colleagues. The Operations function is comprised of: Customer Operations brings together three connected teams - Customer Support, Customer Incident Management and Customer Implementation Services to deliver a seamless and reliable experience for our customers. Data Content are focused on delivering accurate, standardised and enriched data that powers business decisions. Sales & Order Management function ensures a seamless end to end journey from order receipt to fulfilment Operational Risk and Controls purpose is to embed safe, sound, and secure practices across LSEG, it is made up of three powerful utilities (Anti-Financial Crime Utility, Risk & Resiliency Utility and the Controls Utility), the Business Controls Office and our Enablement Teams. Colleague Services is a Global Business Service that sits at the heart of Group Operations delivering essential shared services that meet our common business needs, supporting efficient integrations and Group-wide transformation. Performance Office has been established to enable COO and Enterprise performance and products by providing transparency, expertise, and actionable insights that drive accountability, accelerate impact, and create exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities / Accountabilities • Monthly close activities for Operations business units including the close liaison with global service centers for the posting of journals, identification of accruals, prepayments and cost assurance activities to ensure that results are complete and accurate Produce monthly consolidated P&L Flux report for senior management • Continuous monitoring of Projects, Work in Progress balances and project accounting. Providing accounting guidance to Business Finance and Project Management Team as required. • Production of key supporting schedules and accounting memos for Intangible assets for Operations Division. • Coordinate the preparation of Balance Sheet Packs providing full commentary on movements and breakdown of balances for areas supported. • Monthly review and evaluation of balance sheet accounts for business units. Working with the business units, centralized functions and global service centers to resolve issues and minimise risk (such as open purchase orders, checking manual accruals and reviewing aged items). • Manage and coordinate audit responses. • Work with Finance, Business and Corporate function stakeholders to deliver outcomes they own by providing corresponding accounting, reporting and financial control support and enablement activities. Key Relationships: • Operations Finance team • Wider Financial controllership team • Central FP&A team • Wider controllership function especially group policy and consolidations and compliance • Offshore Centre of Excellence teams in India and Columbo • External and Internal Auditor Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies • Good working knowledge of IFRS • Proven ability to form strong relationships with customers and stakeholders • Proven ability to meet deadlines as well as working to a monthly close timetable • Highly motivated with ability to work independently or in a team environment and drive results • Self-starter and able to work with changing priorities and time pressures • Intermediate Level Excel and SAP and/or Oracle Education/ Certifications • Professional Finance Qualification – e.g. CA/MBA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
