We are looking for a guide for the 2026–2027 winter season to join our sled dog kennel in Sodankylä. The role focuses on customer service as well as the preparation, execution, and wrap-up of safaris. We are seeking an energetic individual who excels at customer service, has plenty of interesting stories to share, and ensures guests have a great time. The ideal candidate can resolve potential issues calmly while maintaining the smooth operation of activities and ensuring the safety of all participants, including the dogs. Our customers are international travelers, so the job requires at least fluency in English. Proficiency in other languages—specially French—is a significant advantage. The job also involves the daily care of the kennel and the dogs. Your colleagues will be 30 energetic Alaskan Huskies that appreciate calm, gentle, yet consistent handling and cooperation. Previous experience working with dogs is considered an asset but is not required; however, a genuine interest and willingness to learn about their behavior, well-being, and training are essential. The work involves physical outdoor tasks, so good physical fitness and the ability to withstand various weather conditions are required. To ensure customer safety and animal welfare during activities in Laplands winter conditions, one must also be able to look after oneself and own well-being. First aid skills are an asset; training will be provided if necessary. A snowmobile is one of the tools used in the job; snowmobile driving skills are an asset, and training will be provided if necessary. Work starts flexibly during November—allowing time for paid training and getting to know the dogs before the customer season begins—and concludes at the end of March.
