Employer: Amazon Data Services, Inc. Position: HW Commodity Specialist II - AMZ22609.4 Location: Arlington, VA Multiple Positions Available: 1. Create and implement sourcing strategies for at least one services category and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to drive efficiencies, reduce risks, and costs for Amazon. 2. Develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery; 3. Drive results through methods that include competitive bidding, negotiating, and analyzing data and market trends for your category; 4. Manage supply or purchasing activities, which may include managing supplier relationships and performance; resolving vendor issues; or tracking, analyzing and reconciling purchase orders and requisitions. 5. Engage in forecasting, demand planning, material/supply/inventory planning, and/or capacity planning to deliver supply globally with a high degree of predictability; 6. Manage supply buffers and allocation to shorten lead times and build resiliency into the supply chain without driving excess; and 7. Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base opportunities to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize industry developments that benefit Amazon. 8. Domestic travel up to 25% to perform role responsibilities may be required.
