Job descriptionJob OverviewThe Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) supports the objectives and goals of Harbour View Haven in the provision of personal care and support services to residents. CCAs shall contribute to the establishment of residents' good health, safety and comfort, while working within established facility philosophies, policies and practices.Duties:Assists clients with hygiene needs and daily living activities including bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, positioning in bed, feeding and transferring.Application of Medicated Creams, Ointments, Drops and SpraysAssist in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis.Have the ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basisHave the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including safe lifting, push, pull and bending with demonstrated use of proper body mechanicsHave good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to resolve conflictsMaintain confidentiality concerning residents, staff and organizational informationUnderstand and support the principles of Resident Focused careBe a respectful and hardworking team player with a professional and courteous mannerCommunicate and report relevant information regarding resident care and any health and safety issues to your Supervisor.Provide a criminal record check.SkillsPrevious experience in senior care or caregiving is highly desirable.Knowledge of patient care practices and principles related to Long Term Care Homes or similar environments.Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.Capability to handle heavy lifting tasks while ensuring client safety during mobility assistance.If you are committed to providing exceptional care and support to those in need, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Care Assistant.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentPay: From $24.10 per hourExpected hours: 32 - 40 per weekBenefits:Company pensionDental careDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingPaid time offVision careWork Location: In person
