*JOB SUMMARY*
Contrada is seeking a full-time Line Cook to join our team.
An already beloved but ever-evolving neighbourhood restaurant in Little Italy, Contrada is a fast-paced kitchen dedicated to serving thoughtful, modern Italian cuisine with a focus on quality, seasonality, and craftsmanship. We're looking for someone who is passionate about cooking, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in every plate that leaves the pass.
Full-time team members can expect to work four shifts per week, averaging approximately 10 hours per shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare and cook menu items according to the Chef's specifications and standards. * Consistently execute dishes with precision, quality, and attention to detail * Ensure food is prepared and plated efficiently during service * Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures * Assist with daily prep and station setup * Assist with planning, preparing, and serving the daily staff meal, making thoughtful use of available ingredients while maintaining quality and minimizing waste * Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift * Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service * Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and minimizing waste * Participate in opening and closing duties as assigned
*QUALIFICATIONS *
* 2+ years of experience as a line cook in a professional kitchen is required * A genuine passion for cooking and a desire to build a long-term career in restaurants * Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen organization * Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency * Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude * Ability to take direction, work independently when needed, and contribute positively to the team * Availability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Most shifts run from *2:00?3:00 PM until approximately midnight*.
