Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Chemical and pharmaceutical company. Tasks: Identify and document potential environmental and safety problems . Investigate reported potential environmental and safety problems. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Establish work schedules. Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Provide information for maintenance plans to ensure that maintenance and production objectives are met. Co-ordinate work activities with other departments. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Oversee safety of operations. Set up machines and equipment. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Oversee production . Supervision: Chemical plant machine operators. Labourers in chemical products processing and utilities.
