Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Gauges. Verniers. Computer and technology knowledge: Mastercam CAD/CAM. Equipment and machinery experience: Automatic lathes. Engine lathes. Milling machines. Tool grinders. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Computer-aided design (CAD). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination.
