Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Cheese makers. Tasks: Minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines. Design and develop equipment and procedures for the processing, storage, packaging and handling of food products. Check products and packaging for basic quality defects. Check final assembly for finish, labelling and packaging methods. Set up, maintain and make minor repairs to machinery.
