About this role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Construct and install prefabricated masonry units. Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures. Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Workplace information: On the road job. Financial benefits: As per collective agreement.
