About this role

Job summary

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist to work within the medicine Physiotherapy team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

This permanent opportunity will be to work alongside the Advanced Physiotherapists and another senior physiotherapist to lead the medicine physiotherapy team. The successful applicant will deliver a high quality service to patients on the medical wards and be responsible for training and supervision of rotational and support staff.

The role involves a commitment to work on the respiratory night on call rota.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the multidisciplinary team as a Senior Physiotherapist. To be responsible for own continued professional development. Maintain a high standard of clinical care, quality improvement and service development. Be dynamic, flexible and motivated to drive service improvement. Demonstrate a high level of clinical skill, knowledge and communication

To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care (assessment, treatment and advice) to a complex patient group in specialty If applicable to role, participate in the Senior Physiotherapy general rotational scheme, which involves working across the Trust in a range of clinical settings, some of which are regional specialities

Person Specification

KNOWLEDGE Essential

Advanced knowledge of a range of medical conditions and their impact on patient's functional abilities. Sound knowledge of the physiotherapy process

Desirable

Knowledge of undertaking research and audit projects Knowledge of current NHS issues e.g. NSF's Improving Working Lives

SKILLS Essential

Organisation and time management skills Ability to work as part of a team Commitment to personal and service development Ability to present information, written and orally in a clear and logical manner

Desirable

IT Skills Presentation Skills Specialist treatment skills e.g. manual therapy

Experience Essential

NHS experience in a rotational post providing a broad range of experience across the core areas of physiotherapy Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Desirable

Previous experience in a senior post Experience of working with patients with physical health problems

Qualifications Essential

Degree or equivalent Diploma in Physiotherapy State Registered with Health & Care Professions Council

Desirable

Member of Chartered Society Of Physiotherapists Involvement in relevant CSP Clinical Special Interest groups
