We are pleased to be able to offer a full time Band 4 Assistant Psychology position within CWP's Acquired Brain Injury Service.
This post supports the clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists to provide community neuropsychology services through the Acquired Brain Injury team in Cheshire.The position is based at the Countess of Chester Health Park.
The successful applicants will work under the supervision of experienced clinicians and have access to support from other Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologists within the service. This is an exciting opportunity to develop protocol based psychometric, neuro-rehabilitation and psychological therapy skills to contribute to ongoing career in clinical psychology/neuropsychology.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside case managers and vocational rehabilitation occupational therapists in an interdisciplinary team setting. The roles will require the post-holder to be able to travel independently throughout the Wirral and Cheshire region, which includes travel across rural areas.
Your job role will include:
Supporting the professional neuropsychological care of patients within the Acquired Brain Injury Service, across all sectors of care; Assisting with neuropsychological assessment, neurorehabilitation and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist; Working according to plans agreed with a qualified clinician and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures; Assisting with clinically related administration, conduct of audits and collection of statistics related to departmental requirements, research projects, teaching and project work as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Good honours degree in Psychology (2.1 or above) or equivalent. Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society
Desirable
Other related academic qualifications to Masters or Doctorate level.
Knowledge and Expertise Essential
The ability to communicate complex/ sensitive information where barriers to understanding exist. For example, instances requiring empathy and reassurance. The ability to make judgements involving a range of facts or situations requiring analysis or comparison of a range of options. Also, skills for assessing service users in one-to-one sessions or group sessions. The ability to organise straightforward tasks, activities or programmes, some of which may be ongoing. Also, the ability to plan and prioritises own workload, research programme activities; group sessions, etc. The ability to work to professional guidelines under supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent IT skills with ability to use spreadsheet/database software (Excel, Access, etc.)
Desirable
Ability to use statistical analysis packages (SPSS, Jamovi etc) Ability to use video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams, Accurx etc) Record of having published in either peer reviewed or academic or professional journals and/or books
Experience Essential
Demonstrable relevant work experience or knowledge of working with adults experiencing difficulties with their mental health, physical health and/or cognitive functioning. Demonstrable relevant experience of working within multidisciplinary teams. Experience with participation in team meetings, including preparation, taking minutes and following up on actions. Experience in research methodology and statistical analysis
Desirable
Relevant work experience with people with brain injuries and other neurological disorders. Previous experience of administering standardised neuropsychological tests. Experience of research or data collection with people with neurological conditions or other complex needs Ability to record and report on data for wide range of protocol-based psychological assessment and audit data in an organised and meaningful format for supervisor.
