Job summary Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day? Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking professional, motivated and customer-focused Security Officersto join our dedicated Security Team based at Grange University Hospital. Working Pattern

37.5 hours per week. Night shifts: 19:00 - 07:30. Working between 2 and 4 shifts per week on a rolling rota. Includes weekends and bank holidays as required The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job As a Security Officer, you will provide a highly visible uniformed presence across the hospital site, helping to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff and Health Board property. You will respond to incidents, conduct patrols, provide reassurance to the public, and support the delivery of a safe healthcare environment. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work independently and as part of a professional security team, dealing with a wide range of situations in a busy acute hospital setting. Main Duties

Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols across the hospital site. Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms and emergency situations. Prevent, deter and investigate criminal activity and security breaches. Support clinical staff in the management of challenging situations and aggressive behaviour. Assist with fire alarm activations and emergency procedures. Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records. Liaise with external agencies including Police, Fire and Ambulance Services. Provide advice and support to staff, patients and visitors on security-related matters.

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential

Good basic education e.g GCSE or equivalent Knowledge acquired through on the job training and experience i.e. restraint, breakaway techniques, SITO qualification

Desirable

SIA Door Supervisor Licence Previous Training in Control & Restraint & physical intervention skills Lift evacuation training

Experience Essential

Experience of working in a front-line security position with direct contact with clients or transferable experience from another frontline role Able to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative

Desirable

Previous Security experience Previous Healthcare experience Previous knowledge of CCTV systems, fire alarms, Access Control - PAC, intruder Alarm Systems Knowledge of Law and offences relating to security industry
