Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated Band 3 Nursing Support Worker to join the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Outpatients nursing team.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who has an interest in Health Promotion.
The role will support the delivery of the Outpatient clinics, in addition to daily rotation to the Cardiac Imaging Suite, to assist with the facilitation of Transoesophageal Echocardiogram. Good communication and interpersonal skills are vital, along with an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
There will be opportunities to work alongside the Practise Educators to support the development of your extended skills, such as venepuncture.

Main duties of the job

Works as part of the multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients within the outpatient setting under supervision provided by a registered healthcare professional in accordance with the HEIW All Wales Guidelines for Delegation
Ensures the working environment is safe and hygienic following infection prevention and control policies and processes
Contributes to the teaching and supervision of students and junior staff
Delivers role in accordance with Health Board/Trust Values and Code of Conduct for HCSWs in Wales
Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge Essential
Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject Or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW) Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Experience Essential
Experience of working within a relevant heath or social care environment, providing direct patient care
