Job summary
The post holder will work as an integral part of the practice team. They will be responsible for coordination of sufficient clinical stock across the Brownlow group practice sites and for ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of clinical stock/medical equipment and stock maintenance/calibration to meet the needs of the practice.
The post holder will be required to work closely with the Nurse managers and outside agencies. They will monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies.
They will be expected to assist with delivery of vaccine supplies to sites when needed, making sure the cold chain cycle is adhered to.
Main duties of the job
Ordering of clinical supplies from various organisations, liaising with Nurse managers.
Maintaining stock rotation in storerooms to ensure efficient use of equipment.
Maintaining stock levels in all clinical rooms across all sites.
Ensuring specialist equipment is available for clinical sessions, example, minor surgery/ IUD/ implants.
Liaise with clinical staff/managers regarding clinical stock requirements.
Keep fridges tidy and maintain cold chain reporting of breaks in cold chain to the management team/duty nurse and follow the guidance when errors occur.
Ordering of medical and other equipment when needed and ensuring all stock receipts are accounted for and returned to HR department.
Assisting with auditing when needed to ensure infection control, fire, waste management and CQC standards are maintained.
To ensure cleaning standards are maintained by auditing cleaning across all sites and reporting when needed and ensuring electronic records of these are maintained.To assist with research stock supplies when needed.
To be responsible for waste disposable or moving of miscellaneous furniture/stock when needed and assisting with site re-location.
Liaise with contractors to maintain oxygen and cryotherapy provisions
Ensure clinical waste contracts are maintained and that waste is removed as per the Environmental Health Guidelines.

Infection Control
To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards across all Brownlow group practices sites by liaising with domestic supervisor.
Liaise with nurse/site manager regarding infection control standards, reporting poorstandards.
Assist with the infection control annual audit and ensure audit outcomes are completed.
General
To transport equipment and consumables as required.
Maintain supplies of tea/coffee across all sites.
Organisation of lunches for meetings as requested.
To be aware of changes to clinical waste categorisation and comply with standards.
To be responsible for the maintenance of electrical equipment and ensure repairs are carried out.
Communication
To work in partnership and liaise effectively with all staff working within the practice and all external contacts.
Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and refer to outside agencies as required.
Manage Tasks; emails and respond in a timely manner.

To ensure own actions reduce risks to health and safety and to promote a health and safety culture within the workplace

Participate in the Induction programmes/training as requested with new members of the practice team and external students on placement within Brownlow Health.
