Are you a creative and strategic communications professional looking to make a real difference? St Teresa's Hospice is seeking an inspiring Marketing & Communications Lead to help tell our story, strengthen our brand, and engage our communities in supporting outstanding hospice care.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this exciting leadership role will drive the development and delivery of our marketing and communications strategy, ensuring that every message reflects our values, demonstrates our impact, and supports fundraising, engagement, volunteering, and organisational priorities.
Location: St Teresa's Hospice, The Woodlands, Woodland Road, Darlington, DL3 7UA
Hours: 25 to 30 hours per week considered, usually over Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Need to be flexible on occasion to attend hospice and external events at evenings and weekends.
St Teresa's Hospice Band 5: £31,220 to £37,578 per annum, pro rata.

Main duties of the job
About the role:
You will be responsible for leading and developing the hospice's marketing and communications function, ensuring the organisations reputation and brand are protected and enhanced.
You will:
Lead the development and delivery of our marketing and communications strategy.Act as guardian of the St Teresa's Hospice brand across all platforms and services.Oversee and develop our digital presence, including website and social media channels.Create compelling stories and campaigns that showcase the impact of hospice care.Build strong relationships with local media, partners, supporters, and stakeholders.Support income generation through innovative marketing and communications activity.Lead and inspire a small team, fostering a creative and collaborative culture.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional who is passionate about making a difference.
You will have:
Significant experience in a marketing and/or communications role.Experience managing marketing campaigns, projects, and competing deadlines.Strong digital marketing and social media experience.Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.Experience using content management systems and digital platforms.A creative, proactive approach and the ability to build strong relationships across teams and organisations.A full UK manual driving licence and your own transport for work.

The Marketing & Communications Lead plays a key leadership role in shaping, promoting and protecting the reputation of St Teresa's Hospice. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the postholder will lead the development and delivery of the hospice's marketing and communications strategy, ensuring all activity reflects the hospice's values, demonstrates its impact and supports income generation, engagement and organisational priorities.
The postholder has overall responsibility for the hospice's brand ensuring all communications are engaging, accurate, consistent and aligned with the organisation's values, brand identity and strategic objectives. Working collaboratively across the hospice and with external partners, they will maximise opportunities to raise the hospice's profile, strengthen community engagement and communicate the difference the hospice makes every day.

Person Specification
Knowledge and skills Essential
Strong knowledge of marketing and communications best practices with working knowledge of new trends Web design and editing skills
Desirable
Knowledge and understanding of local and regional press, media outlets and publication platforms Graphic design skills Photography and video editing skills
Experience Essential
Significant experience in a marketing or communications role, including initiating and managing marketing campaigns and projects Experience of working with multi-platform social media channels and CMS(s) Use of various digital platforms and mechanisms for profit Using brand information to personalise platforms across an organisation and professional experience of website and social media upkeep
Desirable
Experience of managing staff Working in the media, press or similar Professional fundraising experience
Qualifications Desirable
Marketing or other relevant qualification at Level 3 or above
