About this role

Job summary

The non-rotational Senior Occupational therapist is aspecialist clinician in a specific clinical area. Theyparticipate as a member of the team independentlymanaging a specialist clinical caseload. They take responsibility for supervising, delegation,training and developing others. The post holder willcontribute to implementing changes in their own clinicalarea to improve patient care and efficiency of servicedelivery.They will contribute to audit and may also participate inresearch activities.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy State Registered Occupational Therapist (HPC) Appropriate Range of postgraduate clinical education

Desirable

Active participant in relevant interest group

Experience Essential

Broad range of post graduate clinical experience Specific experience in Rehabilitation Relevant clinical educators course or equivalent Experience of working independently

Desirable

Experience in integrating user participation in service development Experience of completing specialist assessments and interventions for CVA

Skills and Knowledge Essential

Able to assess for, plan and co-ordinate a range of specialist occupational therapy interventions The ability to discuss the clinical reasoning process in the management of complex cases Good communication skills both verbal and written when interacting with members of the team, other staff, services users and their families Able to work on initiative

Desirable

Specialist knowledge in the application of OT assessments and interventions The ability to discuss the ethos of clinical governance and its relevance in Occupational Therapy Practice
