Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Business Improvement Training Coordinator to support digital transformation and continuous improvement across Adult Community Mental Health Services.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality digital systems training, user support and business improvement initiatives to staff across the Directorate. Working closely with clinical, operational and corporate teams, the role will promote effective use of digital systems, improve data quality, support system adoption and enhance staff capability through structured learning and development.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and training skills, strong IT knowledge and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders. They will contribute to service improvement, support digital change programmes and help ensure staff are equipped to use systems safely, effectively and in accordance with Trust and national standards.
Main duties of the job
The Business Improvement Training Coordinator will lead the delivery of digital systems training and user support across Adult Community Mental Health Services.
Key responsibilities include assessing training needs, developing and delivering training programmes, producing training materials and providing ongoing coaching and support to users. The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical, operational, information and IT teams to improve system utilisation, data quality and compliance with organisational standards.
The role will support implementation of local and national digital initiatives, identify opportunities for service improvement, contribute to quality improvement projects and assist with the development of standard operating procedures and guidance. The post holder will monitor training effectiveness, maintain accurate records and provide advice and support to staff using a range of digital systems and applications.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting business improvement, embedding digital change and ensuring staff have the skills and confidence required to maximise the benefits of digital solutions and system developments.

The Business Improvement Training Coordinator is responsible for delivering effective digital systems training, supporting users and contributing to business improvement activities across Adult Community Mental Health Services.
Training and Development
Deliver structured group training sessions and tailored one-to-one support to staff at all levels.
Assess learning and development needs and adapt training methods to meet individual and service requirements.
Develop, review and maintain training materials, user guides, e-learning resources and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Provide post-training support and coaching to ensure effective system adoption and compliance with agreed standards.
Maintain accurate records of training delivered and evaluate training effectiveness.
Digital Systems Support
Support users in the effective use of digital systems and applications.
Provide advice, guidance and troubleshooting assistance to system users.
Monitor trends and recurring issues to identify learning needs and opportunities for improvement.
Support the resolution of system and data quality issues through user engagement, system reviews and validation processes.
Promote safe and effective use of information systems in accordance with Trust policies and information governance requirements.
Business Improvement and Service Development
Contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of digital and service improvement initiatives.
Support implementation of local and national digital transformation programmes.
Participate in audits, data quality exercises and service improvement projects.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and user experience through better use of systems and technology.
Recommend practical solutions to support continuous improvement and service development.
Partnership Working
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clinical teams, operational managers, information teams, IT departments and external partners.
Participate in system user groups and working groups to support the development of best practice and consistent standards.
Act as a point of contact for advice relating to user training and system utilisation.
Communication
Deliver clear and engaging presentations and training sessions to a diverse range of staff groups.
Communicate complex technical information in an understandable and accessible manner.
Produce reports, guidance documents, training materials and correspondence as required.
Governance and Compliance
Work within Trust policies, procedures and established training frameworks.
Ensure confidentiality and information security requirements are maintained at all times.
Comply with all statutory, mandatory and professional training requirements.
Support safeguarding, health and safety, risk management and equality and diversity requirements.
General Responsibilities
Manage and prioritise workload effectively, working independently and using initiative within agreed frameworks.
Travel between Trust sites as required to deliver training and provide user support.
Maintain professional knowledge and skills through continuous professional development.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post as requested by the Line Manager.
The post holder will be accountable to the Business and Performance Lead and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, efficient and digitally enabled services across Adult Community Mental Health Services.
Person Specification
Education/Qualifications Essential
Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field Evidence of training delivery and facilitation skills Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies such as Lean or PDSA. Formal Quality Improvement qualification (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt). Teaching or training qualification (e.g. Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent).
Experience Essential
Experience of delivering IT training and/or user support in a workplace setting. Experience of working with IT systems and applications, including supporting users with system-related queries Experience of assessing user needs and adapting support or training accordingly.
Desirable
Experience of working within healthcare, NHS or public sector environments. Experience of developing training materials, user guides or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Experience of participating in system implementations, digital transformation or service improvement projects.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge Essential
Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Ability to communicate complex IT and digital concepts clearly to a wide range of staff groups and deliver effective training sessions Understanding of data quality principles and system-based processes, with the ability to analyse and resolve user issues
Desirable
Experience using and supporting clinical information systems and digital healthcare applications Ability to assess training needs and develop training materials, guidance documents and SOPs. Ability to identify opportunities for service improvement and recommend practical solutions to enhance system use and performance.
