About this role

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs setup procedures for product changeover, changing out tooling and reconfiguring equipment as needed.

• Monitors all stations in Drum Line, supporting minor maintenance as needed.

• Regularly communicates with operators, reporting major problems to supervisor.

• Ensures operator time is used efficiently.

• Checks work completion and ensures operations are carried out correctly.

• Examines parts for defects using micrometers and other gauging equipment.

• Interprets setup sheets for lathes and drill stations on a per-job basis and inputs variables into computer.

• Fills out maintenance work orders when needed.

• Verifies accuracy of product tickets.

• Ensures conforming and non-conforming product is properly identified, accounted for, and delegated at the end of shift.

• Provides on-the-job training for operators.

• Operates a forklift to move product, loading and unloading trucks at dock when necessary.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Must have demonstrated distinctive knowledge of the functionality and setup of machining equipment.

• Must be able to work consistently and troubleshoot under pressure.

• Must possess a working knowledge of the hub product line; good product knowledge and ability to locate and identify correct components.

• Superior initiative and positive attitude; willing to do what is necessary to meet production requirements; willing to accept responsibility.

• Ability to serve in a leadership position and direct others through instruction and by example.

• Attention to detail and quality of product.

• Ability to work well with others – including all supervisors and managers in all departments and on all shifts.

• Ability to follow work instructions, understand and complete work orders, fill out paperwork correctly and clearly.

• Willing to work overtime and Saturdays as required on short notice.

• Basic computer skills.

• Basic math skills (decimals, min/max values).

• Forklift license beneficial but not required.
