The requirement is for a Python automation engineer and Intelligent Automation Manager with 5+ years of experience who owns the complete development lifecycle of attended business process automations end-to-end, and is beginning to take on technical leadership within the team. This Python-first specialist combines strong Selenium and web automation skills with solid VBA/Excel competencies, working knowledge of Power Automate and Power Apps, advanced data processing capabilities (Excel, PDF, OCR), and hands-on prompt engineering skills that turn Gen AI into a dependable, production-grade automation component. Beyond individual delivery, this is someone who is stepping into leadership — supporting the senior technical lead by mentoring junior developers, contributing to team standards and reusable components, and taking ownership of a small workstream or subset of the team's initiatives. They bring solutions rather than problems, escalating the right issues to the senior technical lead while resolving the rest independently. This is a hands-on manager who pairs solid engineering skills with growing judgment, communication, and mentorship, ready to run point on well-defined initiatives with moderate autonomy. Core Technical Requirements Python Development

• Strong proficiency in Python 3.x with 5+ years hands-on experience

• Solid understanding of OOP principles, error handling, and modular code design

• Experience packaging Python applications into executables (PyInstaller, cx_Freeze, auto-py-to-exe)

• Working knowledge of virtual environments and dependency management (pip, requirements.txt) Selenium & Web Automation

• Strong Selenium WebDriver experience, including familiarity with reusable automation frameworks (e.g. Page Object Model)

• Experience handling dynamic content, iframes, pop-ups, alerts, and AJAX calls

• Good command of explicit/implicit waits and locator strategies (XPath, CSS selectors)

• Working knowledge of headless browser operations

• Familiarity with Beautiful Soup, Scrapy, and Requests Power Platform — Power Automate & Power Apps

• Working proficiency in Power Automate for building cloud and desktop flows that integrate with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dataverse, and common connectors

• Experience building basic-to-intermediate canvas or model-driven apps in Power Apps to complement automation workflows with lightweight front-ends

• Understanding of when to route a use case to Power Platform vs. Python/RPA, and how to combine the two effectively

• Working familiarity with Power Platform governance basics (DLP policies, environment strategy) sufficient to operate within IT-defined guardrails Data Processing & File Handling

• Excel manipulation (openpyxl, pandas, xlwings, xlrd/xlsxwriter)

• PDF processing (PyPDF2, pdfplumber, tabula-py, camelot)

• OCR implementation (Tesseract, pytesseract, EasyOCR, cloud OCR APIs)

• Data transformation and cleansing with pandas and numpy VBA & Excel Macros

• Working knowledge of VBA for Excel automation; able to read, modify, and maintain existing macros

• Familiarity with the Excel object model: Workbooks, Worksheets, Ranges, PivotTables

• Experience integrating Python and VBA via xlwings or win32com (pywin32)

• Sound judgment on VBA-vs-Python trade-offs

• Understanding of macro security, digital signatures, and programmatic macro enablement

• Experience with Excel events, user forms, and custom functions (UDFs) Gen AI Integration & Prompt Engineering

• Strong, hands-on prompt engineering skills for data extraction, classification, content generation, entity recognition, and decision logic

• Experience with prompt optimization techniques: few-shot learning, chain-of-thought prompting, role-based prompting, context management

• Solid understanding of prompt limitations, hallucination handling, and output-validation strategies

• Ability to design prompts that produce consistent, structured outputs (JSON, CSV) at scale

• Working knowledge of temperature, token limits, and parameter tuning

• Experience building and maintaining reusable prompt templates

• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs (authentication, request/response handling, error management, rate limiting) Professional Competencies Ownership & Delivery

• Owns the SDLC for their own automations end-to-end, and takes increasing ownership of a small workstream or subset of the team's initiatives

• Proactively identifies improvements within their area of ownership and follows through to completion

• Default response to a blocker is to attempt a solution first, escalating with options rather than just raising problems

• Comfortable taking ambiguous requirements and shaping them into a clear technical approach, checking in with the senior technical lead on higher-risk decisions

• Good documentation habits for code, decisions, and user guides Mentorship & Team Support

• Supports and mentors junior developers — pairs on problems, reviews code, and helps upskill others in Python, Selenium, and prompt engineering

• Contributes to knowledge-sharing sessions, documentation, and reusable component libraries

• Helps with onboarding of new team members Version Control & Collaboration

• Solid Git/GitHub skills: branching, merging, conflict resolution

• Participates in and helps facilitate code reviews for peers

• Maintains clean, well-organized repository structures and follows team branching standards Code Quality & Best Practices

• Follows and helps reinforce coding standards (PEP 8, logging, exception handling, debugging practices)

• Uses config files and environment variables for sensitive data

• Builds reusable functions, classes, and modules, and encourages their use by others

• Flags technical debt within their area of ownership and proposes remediation
