Hybrid Working: Hybrid Working - minimum requirement of 40% on Campus, with 60% considered desirable where possible.

A Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position is available in the Department of Chemistry in the group of Professor A Slater (agslatergroup.com).

You will join a vibrant and growing team focused on the use of enabling technology, such as flow, to control complex chemical processes. With projects in supramolecular synthesis, organic materials, industry processes, automated optimization, and crystallisation, we are a multi-disciplinary group with expertise in chemical engineering, organic synthesis, porous materials, and automated and digital approaches. Alongside Prof Slater, you will work closely with the team to bring your expertise to these ongoing projects as well as leading projects yourself. You will contribute fully to our group culture, which values working collaboratively and openly in a respectful and supportive environment.

In this role, you will specifically focus on projects using flow chemistry for post-synthetic modification and crystallisation of organic cage materials as part of activities supported by a URF Fellowship Extension. Alongside this, we are excited to work with you on your ideas to leverage the benefits of flow in supramolecular science. For this post, we are prioritising applicants with experience in flow chemistry and/or automation in a materials or supramolecular chemistry context, and solid-state characterisation of supramolecular materials (particularly crystallography).

If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
