About The College of Engineering and Computer Science
The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) combines an international-standard curriculum with state-of-the-art facilities and strategic industry partnerships, particularly within the Vingroup ecosystem. In collaboration with seven research centers, CECS focuses on areas including Internet-of-Things, Parallel Computing, Data & Information Security, Computational Intelligence, Distributed Systems, and Computer Science applications for marketing, accountancy, and finance.

About the Role
This is a full-time, research-focused position within the College of Engineering and Computer Science, with the opportunity to collaborate with the Institute of Big Data Research, which advances research at the intersection of biotechnology and applied mathematics — integrating genomics, big data, and AI to address national challenges in data infrastructure, smart agriculture, and genetic innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in research groups within data science, with minors in genetics, agriculture, and healthcare Carry out research and produce high-quality publications, patents, or other research outputs Obtain competitive research funding Teach assigned courses, including lectures, assignments, labs, projects, assessment, and office hours Supervise undergraduate and graduate students Contribute to university service, including committee work, faculty recruitment, accreditation, and program development Support initiatives aligned with VinUni's strategic goals
Candidate Profile
PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science (with knowledge of genetics or related natural science fields), or Applied Mathematics from a prestigious university Demonstrated teaching ability and commitment to student-centered, active learning Evidence of scholarly achievement or strong potential, through publications, international conference engagement, or research collaborations Commitment to developing an independent, externally funded research program Experience in multinational, multicultural, or start-up environments highly valued
Requirements by rank:
Assistant Professor — postdoctoral or equivalent experience preferred; demonstrated potential for independent research and effective teaching; international research engagement an advantage Associate Professor — extensive, recognized teaching excellence; sustained publication record; success securing research funding as Principal Investigator for 5+ years; active participation in professional societies Professor — internationally recognized research leadership; sustained record of high-impact, funded research for 10+ years; keynote presentations or awards for research excellence; distinguished teaching and mentorship
