Responsibilities: We lead, coach and develop a team of up to six Cloud Engineers.We manage Agile delivery, sprint planning, stand-ups and engineering ceremonies.We design and implement secure Azure and Google Cloud environments.We deliver Azure Landing Zones and modern cloud platforms.We drive Zero Trust cloud architecture and security best practice.We implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Bicep.We apply Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) principles.We lead cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.We drive DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.We ensure cloud governance, resilience and operational excellence.We work closely with Architecture, Security, Development, Data and Infrastructure teams.We review new project requests and provide technical direction, solution design and delivery estimates.We manage Azure cost optimisation and FinOps activities.We build delivery roadmaps and continually improve engineering processes.We manage supplier relationships and technical delivery partners. We are a London-based council recruiting a Cloud Engineering Manager to lead a highly skilled Cloud Engineering team through one of our most exciting technology transformation programmes. This is a permanent role based in Westminster, London, with hybrid and flexible working, a salary of £79,005 to £88,149, and the opportunity to build modern Azure and Google Cloud environments from the ground up. The role is heavily technical, with around 80% focused on cloud architecture, engineering strategy and delivery, alongside leadership and people management.
