Salary: £141,440 - 141,440 per year
Requirements: A solid background in software engineering, ideally with development experience in a regulated software safety context such as Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Nuclear or Medical applications.Experience with Ada is preferred, or strong experience with C or C++.Experience in other software languages such as C, C++ or Rust is welcome.Knowledge of software design differences between Real-Time OSs and Hypervisors would be beneficial.Experience using Linux operating systems would be beneficial.We are looking for someone with a passion for software engineering, the ability to innovate, think critically, and solve complex software problems.We need someone who is comfortable working collaboratively, communicating effectively, contributing to design and implementation decisions, and supporting integration. Responsibilities: We are looking for a capable, adaptable and inquisitive Ada software engineer to join our small talented team.We will have you develop middleware solutions for the next generation of advanced missile systems.You will develop solutions across a wide range of problems, from hardware drivers to web services.You will work across multiple applications on both land and maritime projects in our systems software department.You will contribute to design and implementation decisions.You will support integration activities across our applications and systems. We are a world-class defence organisation based in Bristol, working at the forefront of European missile system design. Our team is driven by a passion for software and its successful deployment in battlespace Command and Control weapon systems, delivering safe, secure and reliable products to our customers. This is an onsite role for 4 days per week, with a 4-day working week available Monday to Thursday. The contract is for 6 months with a very likely extension, and ongoing long-term opportunities are common thereafter. The role is inside IR35 on an umbrella basis, with a one-stage video interview process.
