About this role

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements: Strong commercial experience with Golang or similar backend technologies.Previous experience in a leadership, team lead, or engineering management role.Strong understanding of microservices and distributed architectures.Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making ability.Experience working in Agile environments.Desirable: experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.Desirable: experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Desirable: experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems.Desirable: background in fintech or regulated environments.Desirable: experience scaling engineering teams in high-growth organisations. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of Golang Software Engineers.Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend services.Provide technical direction across microservices, APIs, and cloud-native systems.Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards.Promote best practices in CI/CD, testing, and DevOps culture.Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of engineers.Work closely with Product Managers to define and deliver roadmaps.Ensure code quality, scalability, security, and performance standards are met.Drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence across teams.Champion the use of modern tools, including AI-assisted development.
